RIP Frank Franzetta
I loved your art. It was beyond fantastic. It had energy and vibrancy I have never seen before.

You can see a lot of his art over
here
. I hope his art gallery opens back up in PA soon. I'd like to see some of his work up close.

Belated Happy Mother's Day
I've been spending the weekends 'off the grid' so to speak. So, happy Mother's Day to all you Vox Moms (Vox Matra? Matrivox? My Latin is imprecise, at best.) Weekends without skimming rss reads and news feeds is nice. You get to spend them doing things (or opening your mind...

Out of the Loop, In the Groove
It's been quite busy for me lately. Doing Reserve Annual Training, then drill weekends and work is busy busy. I'm taking an art class on digital coloring, so I hope to post some of that work on here for you all. Even if it turns out to be pretty mediocre....

I went to the link you provided and could see many more of his paintings. He was very good. That is interesting that he went from comics to oil paintings. I like the warning on the site: that he sometimes depicted the human form devoid of coverings. LOL!
Thanks for posting this. Since I was unaware of his work, I was also unaware of his death. He had a lot of talent.

I knew some of the Frazettas...not knew them-knew them but knew who they were when I'd see them. I grew up in the same town and used to walk by Frazetta's costume shop all of the time when I still lived there.

That's pretty cool. I think part of the family lives in Florida now, which is where Frank spent some time after Ellie past away and his son tried to break into the museum to take some of the paintings. I was hoping to be able to go to the museum (and I was planning to when I found out it was closed because of the legal issues). I'll get to see his work now, but not meet the man. I don't think the rest of his family has the talent he had.
